- Windows programs are as fast as it possibly gets
- Only Windows gives you a good GUI
- Only Windows installs fast without struggling with drivers, configurations and security settings
Linux Truth
- Enterprise Linux offers paid support
- Virtually no viruses exist
- Most comparable Linux software is 15% faster than windows programs
- You will have a GUI when you need one
- You can install a Linux Desktop in under 15 minutes, incl. all drivers and Office Software, fully configured
Which Linux is the best to choose from?
The short answer would be: There is no "the best".It depends on your needs and what you want to do with your hardware.
If you would like to install Linux to run a server we suggest two flavors.
1) If you want paid supprt - RedHat Enterprise Linux
2) If you don't need paid support - CentOS
If Linux is wanted as a desktop OS, you have several choices.
1) You want the best user experience - Fedora*
2) If you run a server environment with RedHat and/or CentOS, we suggest - Fedora
3) If you want to control every aspect of your desktop - Gentoo
There are many more to choose from and we only make suggestions.
Another possibility would be a Firewall - the only suggestions we can make here is pfSense, which is build on FreeBSD - a OpenSource Unix.
*) Previous we listed Ubuntu here. Since Ubuntu is shipped with 'Unity', we can't describe it as the best user experience.
Windows-User quotes
"This is so Linux typical... If you delete a (userdel), it's gone. No 'are you sure' question."

Don't blame the tool for the operators fault. If you work on the command line (Bash) you should always double check your work or use a GUI.
